9:00am – 9:55am: Rising Stars (K,1st,2nd grades) $275
Each week in the creative drama class students will activate their imaginations to explore the basic of story-telling and self-expression. By learning to speak confidently and collaborate with their peers, students, will transform into theater artists right before your eyes. Students will investigate the world of a cherished children’s book and create an original performance piece inspired by the story and amplified by students’ imaginations. Students will present their work on the final day to friends and family.
10:00am -10:55am: Musical Theater Explorers (3rd-6th grades) $275
Students will rehearse a mini version of a popular Broadway musical while learning to be a “triple threat” (singer/dancer/actor). Each class will include opportunities to warm-up, play theater games, learn music, choreography, and scene work. Students will be working towards a sharing day on the final day of class for family and friends.
11:30am- 12:25pm: Embracing Your Clown (3rd-7th grades) $275
Do you love to make people laugh? Enjoy watching cartoons, or love telling stories with your friends? Then "Embracing Your Clown" is for you! In this course, we will explore making physical character choices, find the unique things that make each one of us funny, learn to listen to our peers to tell stories as an ensemble....and we will absolutely laugh a lot! Sound like fun to you? Come join us! Your inner clown can't wait to come out and play!
12:45pm -2:00pm: Play Production Workshop (7th-12th grades) $320
Students will delve deep into acting skills and techniques while rehearsing a once act play under the direction and guidance of a professional director. This class will provide hands- on opportunities to create theater from their own ideas that will stimulate creativity, self- esteem, resilience, broader horizons and create a strong sense of community. This class will allow for reflection on what it means to be a theatre-maker and an active, engaged citizen in society. Students will present their work on the final day of class.
