Envision Theater is an educational theater company based in Northern New Jersey. We bring high-quality performing arts education to students in grades K–12 through in-school residencies, after-school enrichment programs, clubs, workshops, camps, and full-scale theatrical productions. Our mission is to inspire creativity, build confidence, and foster collaboration through the performing arts.

Role Description

Envision Theater is seeking enthusiastic, creative, and reliable Teaching Artists for the 2026–2027 school year. This is a part-time, on-site position with opportunities to teach at schools throughout Northern New  Jersey, New York City, and Long Island.

We are looking for Teaching Artists with expertise in one or more of the following disciplines:

Theater
Musical Theater
Choreography/Dance
Music Direction/Vocal Music
Improvisation
Stage Makeup

Teaching Artists will plan and lead engaging classes for students in grades K–12, develop age-appropriate lesson plans, collaborate with school staff and fellow instructors, and help prepare students for showcases and performances when applicable. Successful candidates are passionate educators who can foster a supportive, inclusive, and creative learning environment.

Qualifications
Experience teaching children or teens in one or more performing arts disciplines
Strong knowledge of theater, musical theater, choreography, music direction, improv, stage makeup, or related fields
Ability to develop engaging lesson plans and age-appropriate curriculum
Excellent communication, classroom management, and interpersonal skills
Ability to adapt instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners
Experience directing performances or coaching student productions is a plus
Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience in theater, music, dance, education, or a related field preferred
Passion for arts education and inspiring young artists

Position Details
Employment Type: Part-time
School Locations: Northern New Jersey, New York City, and Long Island
Compensation: $35–$75 per hour, based on experience, program, and assignment
Opportunities available during the school day, after school, and in seasonal programs throughout the 2026–2027 school year.
